Preparations Before Tarot Reading

1. What’s bugging you? Start there

Love, money, existential dread — the usual suspects. You’ll see a few topic options. Go with the one that’s currently messing with your head the most.

2. Be real with yourself

Drop the act. Before you click anything, pause. Where are you right now—mentally, emotionally? What’s actually bugging you? What’s the question that keeps you up at night? Go deeper. The cards don’t care for surface-level stuff.

3. Quiet the noise

Find yourself a pocket of peace. This isn’t a “scroll while watching Netflix” situation. Tarot needs space, focus, and just a pinch of silence. It’s not about magic, it’s about showing up and actually being here.

4. You know this is online, right?

Automated online readings often use generic interpretations of the cards. Keep in mind that the messages may be broader and less specific than in a personal reading. Try to adapt them to your situation in a way that makes the most sense to you.

5. Write it down, seriously

When the reading’s done, jot down the cards and what they said to you. Come back to it in a day, a week—whenever. Sometimes the message doesn’t hit until your brain’s had time to marinate in it.

6. See the bigger picture

If one interpretation seems unclear, consider combining messages from multiple cards. Look at the bigger picture and try to connect the different aspects highlighted by the cards.

7. Trust yourself

Your gut beats any generic card description. If something hits you, sparks curiosity, or gives you chills, that’s your real answer. Don’t look for validation, seek resonance.

8. Use it as an additional tool

Online tarot reading can be a useful tool for reflection, but treat it as an addition to other methods of self-development and decision-making. If you feel the need for deeper insight, consider a personal reading.
